Sam Surfs

A lovely, simple book that celebrates the power of the imagination. A young boy wants to go out and surf, but he’s told that he is too small by his mother, his father, and his brother. Not to be deterred, the boy goes to the kitchen closet and pulls out the mini ironing board—which he pretends is his very own surfboard. The board plops onto the floor. The boy flops onto the board and pretends the surf a huge wave right there in his living room.
