Pineapple Poet and the Curse of the Smoothie Man is a fun and extremely well illustrated children’s story about a beat-nick, guitar-toting, rhyming, surfing pineapple and how he escaped a smoothie-making tiki. The Pineapple poet will delight children and bring a smile to parents’ faces as they follow him through his rhyming adventures. Author Cam MacMillan, a native Californian who left his heart and surf shorts on the North Shore of Oahu, has this to say about his first published children’s book: “I just had to write it. There has never been a book about surfing pineapples, it was a shame not to do it after the idea hit. Once the thing started rolling, I naturally threw in angry tiki gods working for the big hotel, 1960’s rock concerts, kids who aren’t scared of spooky bedtime stories, ‘Keep Out’ signs, and acres of pineapple plantations that eventually save our hero…”
