  • Description

Merrie the little hula dancer is lonely dancing as one. So she makes a secret wish, a wish that grows wings and flies off to a neighbor island. The wish returns with more hula dancers. As the story unfolds, Merrie’s wish becomes true and keiki will learn how to count from one to ten in English and Hawaiian. Each illustration reveals a different costume change for the little hula dancers, inspired by the famous Merrie Monarch Festival, a renowned hula competition held every spring in Hilo, Hawaii that perpetuates the art and artistry of the Hawaiian culture.
